Recently I was asked to join a ball hockey team that plays in a league near my house. I’m really excited because I love ball hockey and haven’t played in years, and because I went to university with two of the guys on the team so it will be fun to see them again – it’s been a while. I am also slightly nervous about it because I haven’t played in years and when I said I’d join my friend said:
“That’s great! I’ll let the team know. We talked you up a fair bit. No pressure.”
Hmm… I’m not entirely sure I was ever that good at ball hockey and now there are expectations. ack. Nonetheless, I’m excited for the first game tonight. Hopefully I can meet expectations. Though, if they stick me on forward I think I might be sunk. I’m not particularly good at stick handling. But, I can run and while jogging 4 or 5k a few times a week isn’t really the same kind of cardio as running up and down a court it does mean I’m in good shape – I think. I’ll let you know how it all goes tomorrow.
Another exciting thing today was the arrival of some professional Fernie wedding photos in my inbox. I know they were trying to send me a copy of the video and have not had success, but I didn’t know these were coming. A fun surprise. I’m sure that it’s only a selected few as there were only 79 of them, so hopefully I get to see the rest eventually too. There were three in particular that I really like, but the one below is my favourite (click to see full size). I might have to print/frame it.
About the wedding video, the problem sending via gmail seems to be related to file size. If anyone knows of a good online service for uploading videos to the web and restricting access to them please let me know. I don’t think you can password protect You Tube, but that’s what she needs.
I’m also looking to finish off my birthday gift card by getting a pair of inline skates. I’ve done some research online and might go to the store tonight, but does anyone have any recommendations or insight to share before I go?
In other exciting news, I have my first race of the new season on Saturday! WOO! It’s a trail run on Saturday morning and it looks right now like it’s going to rain. I’ll be in the woods so that won’t be a big deal, but it will be muddy and that just makes it sooo much more fun. I can’t wait, Megan and I are going to to have a great morning.
Last, but not least, I’m doing dinner and a movie Saturday night with a close friend that I haven’t seen since before Christmas. I’m looking forward to it, but we don’t know what movie to see. Any recommendations? Can be in theaters or on DVD. So tell me, what’s good??
