Snow Struggles

Lots of falling snow the last couple of days around here.  It was fun running around in the snow yesterday, but not fun driving.  I didn’t even get to attempt it today.  There is no more precipitation expected now until Sunday, so going to work tomorrow should not be a problem.  It is going to be icy though, the muck under the snow I cleared off the driveway and walkway was slushy and it’s -5 out now, so things are going to freeze.  But the only a small part of the road I have to drive on is un-plowed, the rest should be good by the AM.  Perhaps I was over cautious after very bad conditions yesterday, not to mention spining out on the 115 last Thursday night.  The road was dry and clear for most of the way, until I hit the black ice.  Fortunately I wasn’t hurt and there was never any actual impact, so my car is fine too.  Got an inspection last Friday morning to be sure.  I sort of did a 180 in one direction and then 180′d back the other way, so technically I didn’t spin at all since they cancel each other out (according to my friend Brad).  However, I am now stressed while driving on seemingly clear roads, snow doesn’t bother me so much, at least the enemy is visible!

That’s my update for now.  My Twilight fixation is waning and therefore taking up less of my time. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still going to see the movie (again) with Nel when she gets here next week – that’s right – NEXT WEEK!!! WOOO!!

Limestone City

I’m off to Kingston tonight, skipping Ringette even (a difficult decision to say the least).  We have an event filled weekend planned, though not as busy as last weekend.  Christmas parade to go watch Saturday night and then a holiday themed movie and somewhere in there will be a dinner as well.  Maybe board games.  Good times for sure!  Other than that I’m hoping to get to the gym Saturday (for spin class) and maybe swimming on Sunday.  I have my new bathing suit which was a lovely gift from my friend Sheri (she also got me goggles and a cap!) to break in, it hasn’t been wet yet.  I hope to fit in some time with my friend Hilary too, but no sketchy breakfasts like last time.  Lastly there will be a bit of working as one of my board members lives in K-town and I need him to sign some paperwork.  I’m really looking forward to it all, work aside.

Not much else going on.  Curling was on Wednesday instead of last night which was really nice.  I wish we could play Wednesday every week, though that would mess up my Ringette.  It just split the week nicely and I enjoyed being home fairly early last night, even though I did a step class at the gym.

Only watched half of Greys Anatomy last night as So You Think You Can Dance Canada at 930 was more important and Greys is wrong in so many ways.  It’s turned completely ridiculous now.  It’s certainly not what it once was and I’m close to giving up on it, much like several others.  Even Gossip Girl let me down this week!  The shining light was SYTYCD:Canada, it was fabulous Wednesday, though I can’t figure out how Izaack is still on there.  He is a very good dancer, but he doesn’t seem to try very hard and others that have been voted off were better.
